    • Abstract:
The article focuses on the impact of Gothic Romance in postcolonial writings. It discusses the principle and multiplicity of Otherness in colonial literature depicted by the character of Mustafa in "Season of Migration to the North" and the effect of doubling in the character of Antoinette or Bertha in "Wide Sargasso Sea." It notes on the reversal of destination and origin as well as anxieties and identity as implied in the book "Dracula." It asserts that the most important features that bind Gothic and postcolonial text is the presence of dissolution of difference and conceptions of identity. Plots of the three mentioned books are provided to justify the claims presented by the author.
