    • Abstract:
      The article presents a report from a June 18-20, 2014 conference on the history of Indian businesses in the 19th century hosted by the Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS) and the Institute for Economic and Social History at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen university in Göttingen, Germany. Topics of presentations delivered included the history of futures contracts in India, business networks and entrepreneurship, and state regulation of Indian street vendors.
